The protection of multiple land parcels north of Route 195 has created the potential for a rural car-free greenway referred to as the Scenic Greenway. A 3.8 mile section of this trail running through Dartmouth would connect the Acushnet Cedar Swamp In New Bedford to the Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve in Fall River.

Dartmouth, along with Westport and New Bedford, has engaged SRPEDD to conduct Phase 1 of the Scenic Greenway Feasibility Study. This study will identify existing conditions and prepare for Phase 2 which will identify routing options to connect New Bedford to Fall River through Dartmouth and Westport.

The Dartmouth Pathways Committee has further refined the South Coast Bikeway route through their town and implemented the first phase of the bikeway along Old Westport Road from the Westport Town Line to Lucy Little Road.  Bike lanes were officially striped along this section in October of 2012.
